Charm Industrial is looking for it's first farm manager in the Baton Rouge area. You will be responsible for managing our initial 2 acre nursery of Pennisetum hybridum (a grass similar to sugar cane, grown for biomass.) You will also be responsible for expanding the nursery onto the remainder of our initial 20 acre plot, with further expansion to additional acreage planned in future years.
You'll manage every aspect of the farm, including hiring labor, acquiring and operating equipment and supplies, running soil and crop measurements, and addressing any and all problems as they come up. You'll also work with the San Francisco-based Research and Development team to optimize every aspect of farm operations.
Follow directions to the tee and send reports w/ detailed pictures. The crop will need to be visited 2-3 times a week for the first 2 months and then at once a week after that.
Fertilizer calculations
Familiarity with drip irrigation
