Farm and Cattle Manager Position immediately available on a 625 acre family-owned, historic plantation in north west Georgia. The operation raises grass-fed, grass-finished cattle using intensive rotational grazing and animal welfare approved policy. They sell custom beef directly to individuals, restaurants, and re-sellers. The successful applicant will manage the farm and herd, assist in marketing and sales, and help grow the beef business.
The manager is responsible for all farm operational activities including:
* Herd breeding, genetics, health records record keeping
* Maintaining fence, watering systems, farm buildings and equipment
* Pasture maintenance, winter and summer planting
* Daily rotational grazing
* Health maintenance of the herd, assisting vet as needed
* Transport of cattle to processors, transport of purchased cattle
* Maintenance of farm equipment
* Grounds maintenance: roads, around farm buildings, and lodge
* Maintain existing sales, and assist in developing new sales outlets
Will be required to use E-mail, MSWord, Excel, and learn cattle management software.
They are looking for a long term manager/partner excited to grow our operation and offer a negotiable salary commensurate with experience and skills, and pay 50% of an individual health insurance plan, a clearly defined bonus based directly on sales, and 10 days paid vacation, and a business vehicle.
